What's wrong with the parents nowadays??!!

Was in the MRT today and accidentally heard a Mom talking to his son who is in primary. I didn't really know what the son told her but she replied " Tell me if she touches you again, she is not supposed to touch you you know!" I was like..wau..touching..what meaning is that supposed to be? Then after a while..the Mom repeated the same thing again but this time I can roughly guess she was talking about a teacher. This time she said: " She is not supposed to touch you, well, she is going to have a really "nice" feedback and complaints."

This reminded me of the cases where teachers being complained for caning the students. So nowadays teachers are not supposed to punish students physically like the old days (while I was in primary). Well, I don't see the point why physical punishment is not allowed if it's reasonable. If caning makes your children realise that they are wrong in doing certain things why not? We can't deny that physical punishment is effective to certain extents. Children remember their mistakes better than soft approach. School is not only a place for children to gain knowledge but a place where they learn to grow up mentally. Teachers are not only responsible in ensuring the students graduate with excellent results but also bringing up a bunch of people that can think rationally, maturely, a group of people who can contribute to the society. If you bare not letting your children hurt physically, 1) make sure you educate them well enough that they don't have a single chance to be punished in school or wherever they go(in short a perfect soul); 2) spoil them like what you are doing now and let them fall down badly one day in the world of reality.
