Hong Kong for Christmas! 2012 - Part 2

Almost a week since I wrote about my HK Trip Part 1, a bit busy recently..hehe..

Day 2 was Macau Day! Been wanting to go Macau to try the food and look at the buildings..Like I mentioned in my previous post, the ferry terminal to Macau is very near to our hotel..After having a good breakfast, we proceeded to buy tickets and go over to Macau..(a gentle reminder for you, do not eat too full for your breakfast as you might throw up on the ferry)

Buying tickets there was a bit interesting. Initially we wanted to buy via normal channel aka the Turbojet counter but you will realise that the available tickets are for may be one or two hours later. Then you will hear people shouting: "Tickets to Macau at ___(half an hour from now)". Apparently all the tickets were bought by the other counters and they sold it at slightly higher price. However not to worry, the price was not overly priced anyway. So we bought tickets departing half an hour later (not to buy the one too near like 15 mins later as you will need to go through the custom and queue for the ferry).

The ferry was rather nice actually, the seats were also spacious. The whole journey to Macau took around 1 hour and an auntie beside me vomited when we almost reached Macau......luckily I didn't.

On the ferry to Macau
Right after we got out from the ferry, we went straight to look for shuttle bus to the Venetian Macao. A nice resort and hotel with Casino. You can do a lot of shopping in there and also buy some local biscuits..We tried Macau egg tart there..It was still hot when we ate it..yummm.. I'll let pictures tell the words...

We were there till around 2 plus or 3pm..very hungry and hence proceeded to look for our lunch! The famous 猪扒包! I strongly recommend you to try this!!! Till now I still miss the taste of it T.T..Here's the address: 大利来记咖啡室,巴波沙前地18号.

There were also other special food around the area, you just need to look out for them. =) Walking around Macau was rather relaxing plus the weather was cool..After that we went to 议事亭前地的新马路.It is a very happening area with shops around. We bought all our souvenirs (local biscuits) there as well. We went up to 大炮台 to look at the view, a long walk indeed..haha! You can try it out though nothing much up there..

Dinner we decided to try out Portugese meals..Not too bad in fact and the portion was generous..We could hardly finish the food! The restaurant is just along 新马路.

The day was seriously tiring and cold! There is actually a famous and cheap 鱼翅 but it was really too cold that we decided not to walk there. Part 3 will probably be up a week later..stay tune!
